The Maintenance Mindset: Full-Service Oil Change At Guy’s Automotive

The Maintenance Mindset: Full-Service Oil Change At Guy’s Automotive

Full-Service Oil Change Tampa
Tampa people generally accept that many things in life require regular maintenance: their teeth, clothes, yards and so on, but FL car owners often don’t apply the idea of maintenance to their vehicles.
If you never brush your teeth or go to the dentist, you’ll become painfully aware of your neglect when you get a big cavity. Once the damage is done, we learn our key lesson and start to take better care of things.
Unfortunately, Tampa people too often learn the hard automotive lesson when they bring their vehicle to Guy’s Automotive on a tow truck. So many times, a little routine maintenance would have prevented a steep breakdown.
So how do Tampa car owners get into the habit of taking care of their pickups? It’s so easy to forget; not like cutting the grass which you see it every time you pull in the driveway.
Here’s something that will help: The key to good pickup maintenance starts with the oil change. Think about it – when you go in for a full service oil change or service, your personable Guy’s Automotive technician will check all your fluids. If one of them is low, he can look for the reason why. If your serpentine belt is worn, he’ll see it and let you know. Corroded battery cable – they’ve got you covered. And they’ll check to see if your manufacturer has recommended any key services at your current mileage.
The oil change becomes kind of a focal point, a way to check in to see what needs to be done.
The fact is that vehicle inspection surveys consistently reveal that over 80% of vehicles have one or more unperformed repair or maintenance service. Vehicles are generally very reliable and can take a lot of abuse and neglect – but you can only press your luck so long.
So when you come into Guy’s Automotive for an oil change, you get a visual inspection of your car and a reminder for recommended services so you can avoid a total failure. And remember that your technician can help you work out a maintenance and repair plan for your pickup, prioritizing and scheduling the work to make sure you and your family are safe, and avoid expensive breakdowns.
In addition to full-service oil changes, at Guy’s Automotive we also offer cabin air filter, chassis lubrication and PCV valve replacement.

Wheel Alignment Service At Guy’s Automotive In Tampa

Wheel Alignment Service At Guy’s Automotive In Tampa

Wheel Alignment Service At Guy's Automotive In Tampa
When all of a vehicle’s wheels are lined up exactly with each other, your wheels are in alignment. Hitting a road hazard in Tampa or even just the normal bumps and bounces of everyday FL driving can cause your pickup wheels to be out of alignment. This can lead to expensive premature tire and suspension wear.

Here are some alignment basics from Guy’s Automotive:
The first angle is called toe: do the wheels point in towards each other or away from each other at the front of the tire.
The next angle is called camber: do the wheels tip in or out at the top.
And finally, there is castor. Castor measures the angle where the front axles attach to the vehicle.
The ideal alignment for your pickup was designed by its engineers. Guy’s Automotive computerized 4 wheel alignment starts with an inspection of the steering and suspension – so see if anything’s bent, broken or worn out. Then the Guy’s Automotive technician will look at tire condition. From there, the pickup is put on an alignment rack and an initial alignment reading is taken. The wheels are then aligned to manufacturer’s specifications.
Your owner’s manual probably has a recommendation for how often your pickup alignment should be checked – usually every couple of years. If you suspect an alignment problem with your pickup, get it checked at Guy’s Automotive before you suffer expensive tire or suspension damage.

Keep in mind wheels and Tires cause alignment problems.

Did you know that a bad tire can cause your car to pull?  In face, a bent rim can make your ride feel poor as well.  A vehicle requires that all 4 tires and rims are in good condition to reduce safety issues.  An alignment can help, all of the suspension, tires and rims can be inspected thoroughly during an alignment process.  Tires and rims should be replaced if they are not within specifications just like the suspension and steering componants are.
